Flu / Covid Jabs Schedule Posted or Updated on 27 Oct 2025

Book your flu jab today!

As the colder months approach, our team is preparing for this year’s flu clinics, and we’re pleased to offer two special weekend clinics to ensure you are protected before the flu starts to circulate.

  • Saturday 4th October – Tower House, Chudleigh
  • Saturday 11th October – Riverside Surgery, Bovey Tracey

Getting your flu vaccination with us not only protects your health – it also directly supports your local GP surgery. These clinics provide vital funding that helps us continue delivering high-quality care for all our patients.   If you cannot attend our dedicated flu clinics we shall also be offered some clinics during the week later in October.

Eligibility for this year:

  • From 1st September 2025, the following groups are eligible:
  • Pregnant women
  • Children aged 2 or 3 on 31 August 2025
  • Children aged 6 months to under 18 years in clinical risk groups
  • Primary school-aged children (Reception to Year 6) Immunisation will be given by the school vaccination team
  • Secondary school-aged children (Years 7 to 11) Immunisation will be given by the school vaccination team

From 1st October 2025,  additional groups become eligible:

  • Adults aged 65+
  • Adults aged 18 to 64 in clinical risk groups
  • Residents in long-stay care homes
  • Carers (in receipt of allowance or main Carer for elderly/disabled)
  • Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • Frontline social care workers without employer-led occupational health service

Why it’s important to have your flu jab:

  • Protect yourself – flu can cause serious illness, especially for older people, pregnant women, and those with long-term conditions.
  • Protect others – by reducing the spread, you help protect vulnerable family, friends, and neighbours.
  • Protect the NHS – fewer cases of flu mean hospitals and GP surgeries can focus resources on patients who need urgent care.
  • Stay well this winter – even if you’re usually healthy, flu can leave you feeling very unwell and take weeks to recover from.

We have made improvements to our booking system and appointment process to make your visit as smooth and efficient as possible. Our full team of Doctors, Advanced Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Care Co-Ordinators will be on hand to keep everything running quickly. We also have additional vaccinators on stand-by in case of last minute sickness.

Please remember:

  • Arrive at your appointment on time (not too early – early arrivals can cause queues).
  • espond promptly when the Practice contacts you to book your slot, and wherever possible book online or via the link sent to your mobile phone.

Covid Vaccinations

We shall also be offering covid vaccinations at our flu clinics to eligible patients

  • Residents in a care home for older adults
  • Adults aged 75 +
  • Individials aged 6 months and over who have a weakened immune system

Your support makes a real difference. Thank you for helping us keep you – and our community – healthy this winter.
